worm.jpgRon Paul has been having a bit of trouble lately. So much in fact, he has had to curb his Presidential bid in order to concentrate his efforts on “Plan B” (and you Rontards can shut up already, I heard him say it) his Congressional seat, which by the way should enthuse anyone whom he is supposed to represent. So as a result, I get to hear his commercials, and there’s a lot of them, every day. Commercials that are full of stale 10 year old data or quotes, obfuscations, and down right lies.

Congressional Quarterly names Ron Paul one the 50 most effective legislators - first this is an 8 year old article that frankly is quite stale, and second the article is not a list of “effective legislators”. That list does not exist.

He is trying to tie himself to the Reagan Revolution by airing a sound byte that is at least 10 years old where Reagan states “We need to keep Ron Paul”. Again stale, this is the same Ronald Reagan that Ron Paul blames for creating the OBL, and Sadam Hussein problem. So Ron Paul expects that he can rail against Ronald Reagan’s foreign policy on one hand, and ride his coat tails on the other.

He claims he is the tax payers best friend, well that’s a stretch coming from the Pork King of Lake Jackson. 400 million in one year for trivial projects that Ron Paul makes the earmarks for, and then votes down knowing his buddies in Congress will pass the measure.

He claims he is tough on defense. Meanwhile, he votes down every defense appropriation, want to cut military spending by 80%, do away with the CIA and the Air Force, and reduce our forces to ballistic submarines. Hmmm, that’s pretty tough allright.

He claims he is pro-family and pro-life, while he votes down measures to prohibit and increase penalties for transporting minors across State lines in order to get around home State abortion regulations.

The truth even eludes Ron Paul when it comes to his challenger. He ignores the fact that his seat is in serious jeopardy, refuses to debate or even have a forum. But, Ron Paul certainly cried foul when Fox did not invite him to the Florida debate.

As usual, Ron Paul says one thing, and does the complete opposite.

Texans have a choice. I invite you to check out Chris Peden’s site at chrispeden.org to get the facts about the 14th district.

I’m curious if you could cite your source in your claim that “He ignores the fact that his seat is in serious jeopardy.” We all know that the poll released by Pajamas Media wasn’t accurate, and all the other polls reported around the web that I’m seeing are showing Ron Paul with a large lead over Peden.

Just curious which polls you’ve looked at recently that drew you to that conclusion.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I heard the polling data on one of the local radio shows I listen to in the morning. But since you are from New Jersey Mark, you would not be able to tune in. So just what is your interest in the Texas 14th Congressional District anyway? Or are you just a shill of the Ron Paul campaign?

Let me put it to you this way, the people that show up to his events have to be bussed in from Austin. Which if you know anything about Texas, you would know that it is a long way away from the Texas 14th Congressional District.

  3. Mark Mark Says:

I’m actually not from New Jersey, the company I work for is out of NJ, thus if you lookup my IP it says I’m in NJ. That is not the point, however. If you wanted to keep non-Texas 14th district people from your blog, why did you submit it to Digg (or, if you didn’t, why do you have a feature that allows you to submit it to Digg?). If you wanted to keep it local, keep it local, don’t put it on Digg, but don’t call me a “shill” because of that.

I’m merely curious on the polls you’re using that led you to make the claim that his seat is in serious jeopardy. I’d love to see them, but dancing around my question because you can’t answer it only makes you look foolish.

Like I said before, I heard the polling data on the radio. It didn’t come from any print media, so, I don’t have a transcript. to show you.

I could care less whether you are from New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Timbuktu, it doesn’t matter to me, or the blog. The whole local vs. non-local debate is obtuse, why even go there. If I didn’t want people from all over to read the blog, I wouldn’t have paid for a domain name or started a blog in the first place.

Meanwhile, the question still stands. Why would you have a stake in a Texas Congressional Race?

It goes to another point I will be making in a future post, on both this blog, and a similar story on my Texas-centric blog, about the amount of influence and campaign donations being raised by candidates from people who are outside of their district. So stay tuned…

You act like it is some secret that Paul gets donations from outside donors. This is a very common practice, and many politicians do so I don’t see what your point is. Peden even gets donations from people outside of his district. I sure how you blog about that as well.

But, what do I have at stake? A political movement and philosophy, and the future of this country. I know it isn’t anything big to you, and you’ll just fire back saying with some insult, but to the hundreds of thousands who voted for Paul and support him, it is a big deal and very important to us.

So your staking your whole political future on Ron Paul? I’m sorry to tell you this Dorothy, but don’t look behind the curtain, you will only be disappointed. He’s just another Washington Beltway insider that eats at the same trough as all the rest of them.

Do your own research, and examine his record. Heck look at the claims made in his own advertising and try to prove them out. You will be the one surprised. Be a part of the process and do your own homework, don’t just take the candidate or their shills word for it, none of the Presidential candidates, and I mean no-one including Ron Paul, are totally truthful.

How sad it is that Ron Paul has to go back 10 or more years to be able to find accolades that sing his praises. Even more, he has to raise a majority of his money from outside of his District to be able to put up a campaign, in his own District. Sure, Peden has donations from outside his District, but the majority of his funds comes from people in his OWN District. We’ve had too many Carpet Baggers in politics for to long, and it time to send them all packing, Ron Paul included.

Other than rhetoric, name ONE thing Ron Paul has done or accomplished in his 20 years in Congress. Has he offered solutions, or just voted no. It’s real easy to say no, but it takes knowledge of the issues, courage, and leadership to offer solutions and stand up for them. Ron Paul does neither, unless it is for his Industrial Hemp (legalize pot) Legislation.

And I’m sick and tired of liberals like you masquerading as Conservatives. One of the biggest reasons for the supposed grass roots movement for Ron Paul is the hanging on of the anti-war, blame America first, code-pinko fringe left wingers! If you support Ron Paul, then you support what we call his Ostrich foreign policy (that’s sticking your head in the sand, for those of you from Lake Jackson), reducing the size of our Military at one of the most dangerous times in history, and you support Ron Paul’s other trutherist blame America conspiracy theories, then you not different than any of the of the LIBERALS that support Obama, Clinton, Kucinich, et. al.

    Liberal - Libertarian no diff…

Ron Paul leads his only GOP opponent, Chris Peden, 63-30%. He has no Democratic Party opponent.

Nice, Public Policy polling, they polled a total of 468 people. Wow less than 1% of the total constituents, man I’m impressed. And I’m sure all the flowery verbiage for Ron Paul in their press release had absolutely nothing to do with the poll results [ cough cough B.S. cough].

With 20 million, I could buy a good pollster too!

  9. Mark Mark Says:

    I don’t understand.

Most polls that you see on CNN, FoxNews, and so on can have anywhere between 500-1000 people who were polled.

Next time you see a poll on a news site, read the small print and you’ll see how few people they do poll.

I do like the excuses though. Calling me a liberal, and other names. Very defensive, very insecure.

BTW: I’m still waiting for your one accomplishment that Ron Paul has made in his last 20 years in Congress.
